5 Unique Date Night Ideas in Saskatoon

Dinner and a movie. A walk along the river. A cocktail at a dark bar and some live music. We know them, we love them, but sometimes we are just craving something a little different! Here are five unique date ideas to try with that special someone

1.Ramen Lab by TopZpin Hitlab

TopZpin Hitlab is a pickelball court on Quebec Ave, but it is SO much more than that! At TopZpin they host themed nights like Speed Puzzling and Ramen nights! Or VR Gaming and ramen nights! Talk about a unique date night. And if you're like me, you might be asking "whats with the ramen?" , well, TopZpin is home to ramen wall and ramen lab! The ramen wall has over 60 South Korean ramen varieties. You can pick a ramen, pick your toppings, and go to the machine and watch it do the rest!

This one might be a 'hear me out' for some of you, but stay with me.  The Canadian Light Source is the ONLY synchrotron light source in Canada and one of 70 worldwide! That's special! Thats niche! Every year over 1000 researchers travel from around the world to use it! And you could tour it with your sweetheart FOR FREE! Tours are offered Monday – Friday so it would have to be a special day off activity but so worth it! Get smarter together!

One thing that is always romantic is slowing down and spending intentional time with each other, and bonus points for doing something good for your own wellness! Back2Nature Wellness offers a 2 hour long private sauna experience, out at Blackstrap Provincial Park (just 25 minutes out of the city!). Drive out while co-authoring the ultimate date night playlist, enjoy a private sauna, then drive back talking about your dreams and listening to your playlist!  If you can think of a cozier way to spend a date night let me know!

One of the best things about being in a relationship is creating those shared memories that get called up over and over again. Once during a whisky tasting at Black Fox Farm and Distillery John Cote asked me what memories came to mind when I was smelling the whisky. I loved this take on a tasting and now my husband and I play them "smell game" every time we try a new wine. So, I guess what I am trying to say is taste Black Fox Farm and Distilleries' award-winning whisky so you can bring it up together for years to come.

You do not have to be a student to enjoy the University of Saskatchewan. There are a number of galleries and museums that are open to the public and most of them are free! Explore campus and enjoy ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian artifacts at the Museum of Antiquities. Then head to the Museum of Natural Sciences and see dinosaur skeletons! And head to Kenderdine Art Gallery for exhibitions by regional, national, and international artists! Make it a fun little challenge and try to do it all while getting lost in the campuses tunnel system! Some of the galleries are only open during business hours, so this is another idea best enjoyed on a weekday off.
