Going To the Movies with Colosseum Presents

There are countless films that ignited our imaginations and plucked our emotions, and as often as 7-for-7-for-7 was thoroughly enjoyed, there was nothing quite like heading to Rainbow Cinemas at Circle Mall (or Pacific Cinemas if we were really lucky) to experience the movies the way they were meant to be experienced - on the big screen in full cinematic glory: the booming trumpets of a Millenium Falcon escape; the gates of Jurassic Park; Wendy’s terror as Jack breaks through the door; Chief Brody realizing they need a bigger boat; Marty hitting 88mph; Sam carrying Frodo up the slopes of Mount Doom, Dorothy realizing that there is no place like home. 

The whole cinematic experience - the snacks, the bustling auditorium, the previews, the great film - made us fully present, there in the story, and it was magic. This is the gift that Hollywood has bequeathed to us all: life changing magic.

At the time it was simply called Star Wars, and it soon became our life - the movies, the comics, and of course the toys.
