Finding Your Pride: A Guide to Celebrating Pride Month in Saskatoon
Here’s your unofficial guide to Saskatoon Pride Month—whether you want to cheer in sequins, reflect with community, or just find your perfect moment to feel seen.
For the Artsy Types
Start the month off at the Persephone Theatre, where they’re bringing back their beloved Queermunity Theatre Race (June 7), a 48-hour creative sprint that showcases local 2SLGBTQIA+ voices in all their hilarious, heartbreaking, and unapologetic glory.
Want something more interactive? Don’t miss the Local Queer Art Market (June 8) at PAVED Arts, where you can support artists directly and maybe take home something meaningful.

For the Thoughtful and Curious
New this year is a robust Pride Panel Series hosted at the Rusty Macdonald Library, tackling everything from intersectionality to intergenerational conversations around gender and queerness. Panels like The Trailblazers, Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ Voices, and Nonbinary & Trans Experiences go beyond rainbow capitalism and offer space for learning, listening, and meaningful dialogue.
It’s a chance to deepen your understanding of Pride’s roots—and imagine where we’re headed next.

For the Party People
This year’s lineup brings serious sparkle and shine. Glitter & Glam: A Prom of Possibilities (June 13) reimagines what a queer prom could—and should—feel like, hosted by legendary drag royalty China White and Iona Whipp.
You can belt your heart out at Queer Karaoke (June 18) or bring the whole gang to the Sober Pride Party (June 19)—complete with trivia, performances, and a space that celebrates without alcohol.
And for those who want to go big: An Even Bigger GAY Party (June 20) promises to be the largest drag event in Saskatchewan’s history. Think booming beats, wild outfits, and unforgettable performances.

For the Active and Outdoorsy Crowd
Lace up for the Rainbow Run (June 15)—with 10K, 5K, and even a high-heel dash, it’s a colourful way to start your Sunday. Afterwards, head straight to Family Day in the Park for laid-back vibes, live music, crafts, and food trucks. It’s a wholesome, joy-filled day for queer families, chosen families, and allies alike.

For Families (Yes! The Littles Are Welcome Too)
Pride in Saskatoon is for all ages. From the All-Ages Dance (June 1) to Family Karaoke (June 14), or Family Day in the Park (June 15) , there are plenty of moments that let younger folks experience Pride in a way that’s affirming and fun. Bonus: snacks, games, and songs your whole crew will recognize.

The Main Event
Pride Week officially kicks off with the Flag Raising Ceremony (June 16) at City Hall, a powerful moment of visibility and solidarity. Then on Sunday, June 22, the city bursts into full colour with the Pride Parade—a joyous, massive march of love, resistance, and celebration through the heart of downtown.
Stick around for Pride in the Park right after. With music, drag, vendors, and community booths, it’s the festival’s crescendo—and an all-day affirmation of joy, identity, and belonging.

Something for Every Kind of Pride
What makes Saskatoon Pride special isn’t just its size or schedule—it’s the way it offers something for everyone. Whether you want to scream-sing Britney in a bar, learn from Elders, meet other poly folks at the Poly Mixer (June 28), or simply wave a flag from the sidewalk, there’s space for you here.

Pride in Saskatoon isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a mosaic—and this June, you get to decide where your piece fits.
