How are we already talking about March? Doesn’t it feel like the new year just started?

March always feels like a bit of a turning point. Winter still has a say, but the month brings a great mix of arts events, family outings, and sports to look forward to! Here’s what’s happening around the city this March.

Arts and Culture

Remai Modern’s annual art party returns on March 14 with LUGO Frequencies, an evening that takes over the museum with performances, live music, visual art, and a late‑night dance floor. Running from 8 p.m. until late, this 19+ event brings together artists, performers, and guests for one immersive night.

This year's theme is built around rhythm and motion. The suggested approach to the dress code is also tied to the theme: outfits that “evoke perpetual motion,” including details like fringe or metallic fabrics that catch light while moving. Get ready to sparkle on the dance floor!

Family-Friendly Events

The Saskatoon Family Expo takes place March 14 and 15 at Prairieland Park, offering a full weekend of interactive fun, shopping, and entertainment for all ages. This is a go‑to option for expectant parents, young families, and anyone planning a fun day out!

Later in the month, the HomeStyles Home Show returns to Prairieland Park from March 20 to 22. With renovation ideas, décor inspiration, and local vendors, HomeStyles is a great stop for anyone thinking about updating their space or gathering ideas and contacts.

March wraps up with Blue Cross Gardenscape, running March 27 to 29 at Prairieland Park. Featuring breathtaking garden displays, exhibitors, and a look at the latest landscaping trends, Gardenscape offers endless inspiration to transform your outdoor space in the coming months.

Sports Action in Saskatoon

March is a busy month for live sports in Saskatoon, particularly at SaskTel Centre.

The Saskatoon Blades have several home games throughout the month, including matchups on March 4, 6, 13, 18, and 21. The March 21 game against the Prince Albert Raiders will also include the team’s inaugural Hall of Fame and Legend’s Night, recognizing past players and contributors before puck drop.

The Saskatchewan Rush are also at home twice in March, hosting the San Diego Seals on March 14 and the Buffalo Bandits on March 28. Both games take place at SaskTel Centre and offer a high‑energy option for a night out.

Hands-On Cultural Experiences

Believe it or not, Easter is coming soon! And with it, a chance to try your hand at a centuries‑old tradition. The Saturday Beginner Pysanky Workshops at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada run throughout March and offer a hands‑on introduction to the art of Ukrainian Easter egg decorating. These beginner‑friendly sessions walk participants through the history, symbolism, and wax‑resist techniques used to create pysanky, with all materials provided and no experience required.
