From Artefact to Experience: Designing Folk Imaginaries, with Co-curator Rachel Ormshaw

Event April 25th, 2026
Time 2:00pm - 3:00pm

Exhibition designer and co-curator Rachel Ormshaw presents a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Folk Imaginaries: Ukrainian Clothing as Memory and Imagination. The talk highlights how the exhibition’s design evolved through study of garments, hands-on experimentation, and collaboration with curators, showing how materials, scale, texture, and space shape storytelling and visitor experience.

Ormshaw, an interdisciplinary artist and textile expert, draws on her practice to explore how objects carry history and meaning.
