This history comes to life alongside thriving modern Indigenous culture. A proposed UNESCO world heritage site, Wanuskewin has the longest-running archeology site in Canada with artifacts dating back 6,400 years — that’s older than the Egyptian pyramids!
At Wanuskewin, locals and visitors alike learn and understand the diverse and rich history of Indigenous peoples. This sacred ground will provide your clients with an incredible connection to the land, history, and themselves.
Check in at Delta Bessborough
Retreat to a timeless place at Delta Hotels Bessborough, where you'll escape the ordinary in their historic, castle-like spectacle. Originally built by the Canadian National Railway, the Delta Bessborough played an important role in the development of Saskatoon. They welcomed their first guest in December of 1935 and have been a Saskatoon icon ever since.

There's always been something magical about train travel, and now your clients can experience a bygone era aboard the award-winning Wheatland Express Excursion Train. Based in the heart of the Prairies, a mere hours-drive from Saskatoon, their train journey aims to capture the community's rich arts, culture, heritage and history. Time slows as you sit back, breath in the crisp air, and the view of rolling agriculture and vast skies unfold steadily before you to the rhythm of the train along the tracks. They have knowledgeable guides and immersive characters on-board to enhance the experience with world-class entertainment and tasty locally-inspired menus or showcased products. Passengers can explore the length of refurbished rail cars and discover their unique features and stories. Choose from an afternoon train robbery or an evening meal with a legendary tribute artist's classic tunes. Get caught in a shootout during their Country Cookout or choose to celebrate the Christmas holidays with them. Champetre County
Travel back in time to Champetre County, a family owned, country themed event space. Your clients will be welcomed to The Town of Tumbleweed with a home cooked lunch in the cafe surrounded by hundreds of antiques that bring you back in time! After lunch, your clients will climb aboard a horse-drawn wagon and get toured around this expansive landscape. The views are what photographs are made of. They can wander the grounds and many buildings, spotting cowboys, farm animals, and an old way of life. Get lost in the corral maze, which has been featured on productions like the Amazing Race, and then make your way back in time for the dinner bell. Your clients will get to experience a pitchfork steak fondue, an experience that is sure to make the postcard (or social post!). After supper, they’ll hear campfire stories told by the Sheriff before heading out for a night hike, where you can hear the coyotes howling. Stay the night at one of the rustic and authentic houses, surrounded by trees and the old country. Your clients will leave Champêtre County with an inner peace, having experienced the simpler things in life, while learning about Saskatchewan and the prairies in a unique way.

After you check out of your hotel head over the the Western Development Museum to experience Boomtown, an indoor representation of a typical Saskatoon town in 1910.
