Unveiling and Blessing of the Pokrova Icon

Join us at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada for the unveiling and blessing of a newly donated Pokrova icon, gifted by the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation as part of the Heroes of Their Day project honouring Ukrainian Canadians’ service in the Second World War and support for displaced persons.

Created by Ukrainian iconographers Oleksandr Klymenko and Sofia Atlantova, the icon is painted on reclaimed ammunition boxes from the war in Ukraine, linking contemporary conflict with sacred tradition.

The program includes a blessing and a presentation by Borys Sydoruk, reflecting on the icon’s historical and spiritual significance.
