Saskatoon Public Library - Help build Saskatoon's largest LEGO mosaic

Where We Grow is a large-scale LEGO mosaic inspired by the plants that call Saskatchewan home. 

The event will "Kick Off" at the Frances Morrison Central Library on April 18th from 11:00am - 4:00pm. See dates/times & locations below for more building opportunities. 

The artwork celebrates the natural world that surrounds and sustains us. Libraries are places where ideas take root, knowledge branches out and discovery blooms at every age. Like the landscape it reflects and the individuals that make up our community, this mosaic is made piece by piece. It invites us to look closely, ask questions and recognize how small parts connect to create something meaningful.

Grounded in local ecology and collective creativity, Where We Grow is a reminder that learning, like nature, is an ongoing process and that when a community builds together, everyone grows.

About the Mosaic

The completed mosaic will measure over 10 feet wide by 16 feet tall and will be made up of more than 256,000 LEGO pieces. This project was created in collaboration with Robin Sather, Canada’s first LEGO Certified Professional. We are grateful to have collaborated with Wanuskewin Heritage Park in selecting the plants featured in the design. Once completed, this community art project will be installed on the main floor in the new central library and will be one of the largest LEGO mosaics in Canada.

About the Build

Attendees of all ages will build individual 6” x 6” LEGO mosaic tiles that come together to form a large and stunning community-built art piece. Whether you’re a seasoned builder or brand new to bricks, this is a fun, family-friendly way to share your creativity and leave your mark on a unique project that celebrates our community.
