McKercher LLP Head of the Saskatchewan Rowing Regatta
The Saskatoon Rowing Club will be hosting the McKercher LLP Head of the Saskatchewan rowing regatta in Victoria Park on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
A rowing head race takes the form of time trial over a long (typically) river course.
Rowers from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba will row in this annual event that has been held in the fall since the 1980's.
The races will involve competitors rowing a 5.5 km course from the start line at the dock in Victoria Park, through the Idywyld, Traffic, and Broadway bridges and then doing a turn through the spans at the University Bridge and coming back through the bridges to the finish line at the dock in Victoria Park in a time trial race.
Rowers from various categories will compete, including Under 19, Under 23, Open, Masters and Novice rowers in Singles, Doubles/Pairs,, Quads/Fours and coxed Eights rowing boats.
The races will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon.
