Korinnya - Four Seasons Production

Event February 7th, 2026
Time 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Korinnya (meaning roots) is Volya’s newest and most immersive production, debuting:

It takes audiences on a journey through the seasons of the year and the traditions that have carried Ukrainian culture through generations. Korinnya highlights the customs, rituals, and celebrations that have shaped community life across spring, summer, fall, and winter — each season brought vividly to life through dance, music, imagery, and storytelling.

From the freshness and rebirth of spring, to the vibrancy of summer gatherings, the abundance and gratitude of the autumn harvest, and finally the reflection and hopefulness of winter traditions, Korinnya is about more than just the changing year. It is about the traditions that ground us wherever we are, and how those roots continue to grow in new soil today.

Under the artistic direction of Zhenia Bahri, this production will feature the debut of brand new choreography, pushing Volya’s storytelling to new heights. The audience will also be treated to a special guest performances from Lastiwka Ukrainian Choir and Orchestra, celebrating the strength of Ukrainian dance communities across the Prairies.

Combining powerful movement, live and recorded music, intricate staging, and breathtaking projections created in collaboration with Sokaris Studios, Korinnya promises a fully immersive theatrical experience. We want audiences to leave not only with the beauty of Ukrainian dance in their minds, but with a deeper sense of how culture, tradition, and community connect us — season after season, generation after generation.
