Historic Places Days - Phase I
Step into the living legacy of Richard St. Barbe Baker, the pioneering global conservationist, during Historic Places Days 2025! Join us July 12th at 6:30pm at Parking Area P2 for a guided heritage forest walk through the east side of Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area, one of Saskatoon’s most remarkable green spaces.
This hidden gem is more than just a forest — it’s a historic landscape that tells the story of reforestation, environmental stewardship, and a man whose work helped plant billions of trees across the globe. During our guided tour, you’ll hear stories about Baker’s visionary efforts, the site's establishment in 1972, and the rare prairie ecology it preserves today.
Free tickets are available now—just bring your curiosity, your walking shoes, and your camera!
