Awasis Indigenous Education conference

The Awasis Indigenous Education Conference 2026 will be held on April 23 – 24, 2026 at the Saskatoon Inn. The conference began as an Aboriginal Education conference in Saskatoon, SK, over 40 years ago, and has since expanded to include sectors in health, justice, social services, and community development. The conference typically has 600 delegates in attendance mainly from SK but also from other Canadian provinces and territories as well as a few international delegates. We have a tradeshow that is open to the public and includes jewellery and clothing created by Indigenous artisans as well as organizations with educational materials. The conference is open for registration to anyone with a vested interest in contributing towards "A Path Forward for Indigenous Education", our theme for this year's conference. We invite and encourage all community members to take part in one of the longest-standing gatherings for Indigenous education in Saskatchewan.
