Make a Wish
At the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and 23rd Street East stands Kyle Thornley's steel sculpture, entitled “Make a Wish”. The captivating installation is an embodiment of resilience, growth, and optimism. Vibrant and colourful fingers cradle a mature dandelion stalk and its delicate seeds as a representation of hope, reminding passersby of the enduring power of the human spirit.
Thornley is a Revelstoke, British Columbia-based blacksmith and artist. His work was originally inspired by the allure of the scrap bin and a desire to recycle waste materials. He uses traditional techniques to create contemporary pieces that combine utilitarian function with artistic impact.
